Following are security incidents and other developments in Iraq reported on Tuesday, as of 1500 GMT.

SECURITY INCIDENTS:

JURF AL-SAKHAR - A suicide car bomber killed two policemen and damaged a new police station after dawn in Jurf al-Sakhar, 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said. Eight U.S. soldiers were slightly hurt but returned to duty. Four policemen were wounded.

BAGHDAD - Two U.S. soldiers died in a non-combat incident just southwest of Baghdad early on Tuesday, the military said.

BAGHDAD - The bodies of five people, shot in the head and bearing signs of torture, were found in different areas of Baghdad, a source in the Interior Ministry said. Two of the bodies were found in the mostly Shi'ite district of Bayaa, southern Baghdad. Fifteen bodies were found on Monday.

KIRKUK - A car bomb targeting a police patrol exploded in central Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, killing one policeman and wounding three others, police said.

DIWANIYA - The body of an Iraqi soldier was found riddled with bullets in the Shi'ite city of Diwaniya, 180 km (115 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

KUT - A spokesman for the political movement of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in Wasit province said seven of its Mehdi Army militiamen were killed and 18 posted as missing, along with nine wounded, after an airstrike on the village of Sayafiya, west of Suwayra and 50 km (30 miles) south of Baghdad early on Tuesday. The spokesman, Hameed al-Zargani, said the Mehdi Army was engaged in a gunbattle with unidentified gunmen when bombs fell on the village. The U.S. military, the only force with such air power in Iraq, had no immediate comment.

BAGHDAD - A motorcycle exploded near restaurants in al-Andalus square in central Baghdad, killing four people and wounding 18, a source in the Interior Ministry said.

BAGHDAD - Three civilians were killed and 21 wounded, including 12 policemen, when a car bomb and a roadside bomb exploded in quick succession in eastern Zayouna district of Baghdad, a source in the Interior Ministry said.

MAHMUDIYA - A roadside bomb killed five people and wounded eight in Mahmudiya, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen kidnapped Abdul Kareem al-Talgani, the mayor of al-Zuhour district on the northern outskirts of Baghdad, and wounded three of his bodyguards, police said.

BAGHDAD - A bomb attached to a booby-trapped body exploded, wounding four policemen in the southern Doura district of Baghdad, police said.

SUWAYRA - Police found the headless bodies of five people in Suwayra, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - Clashes erupted between Shi'ite militia and gunmen, killing three people and wounding 10 in the southern Bayaa district of Baghdad, police said. At least two shops were set on fire.

KIRKUK - A car bomb near a fuel station killed a man and wounded six others in Kirkuk, police said. The target of the explosion was not clear.

KIRKUK - A car bomb near a church targeting a police patrol wounded a policeman in Kirkuk, police said.

MOSUL - Clashes erupted between gunmen and police, killing a civilian and wounding three policemen in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, a source in the hospital said.

BAQUBA - A roadside bomb wounded two policemen in the religiously mixed city of Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAQUBA - Gunmen killed four men in two districts of Baquba, police said.

LATIFIYA - A roadside bomb exploded near a car carrying employees of the Finance Ministry, killing one and wounding five, in the small town of Latifiya, 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded two people in al-Nahdha district in central Baghdad, a source in the Interior Ministry said. The target of the explosion was not clear.

MAHMUDIYA - Four mortar rounds landed on a residential district, killing a boy and wounding five other people in Mahmudiya, 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, police said.

MAHMUDIYA - Police found the corpses of 12 people, bound and shot dead, during the last 24 hours in Mahmudiya, police said.

BAIJI - Police found the corpse of a man in the oil refinery city of Baiji, 180 km (110 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi army arrested 73 suspected insurgents during the last 24 hours in different parts of Iraq, the Defence Ministry said.

OTHER DEVELOPMENTS:

BAGHDAD - Saddam Hussein was ejected from his genocide trial for the third day running on Tuesday, and this time his six co-defendants were all sent out after him.

BAGHDAD - Parliament carried out the two main parts of a deal reached this week, naming a committee to draft amendments to the constitution and reading out a bill that would set the mechanisms for obtaining regional autonomy.
