HIGHLIGHTS

- In Darfur no new displacements have been reported since the previous update of 27 December.

- Humanitarian assistance has reached Shangil Tobaya in North Darfur and Khor Abeche and Shearia in South Darfur.

- Approximately 12,000 IDPs continue to gather at ten assembly points across Khartoum in order to benefit from transportation to the South organized by the SSRRC.

- Transportation schedules continue to be unpredictable and the departure of convoys is often delayed or even cancelled altogether. Disorganization has also led to overcrowding at way stations such as Kosti but this has improved in the recent days.
