The Kunduz River Basin Project (KRBP) reports that two more flooding peaks are expected in June, the severity of which will depend on rains and snowmelt. Displacement of the local populations is expected to be necessary in Baghlan, but not in Kunduz.
OCHA has deployed staff to Kunduz to support UNAMA's coordination of the response and a Flood Task Force has been created. The following priorities have been identified:
- Sandbags and gabions to fortify canal intakes and river banks
- Prepositioning of NFI stocks for 500 households in Kunduz
