The disaster prevention special command center in Nakhon Phanom province is in the midst of assessing damage caused by inundation in 12 districts. More than 100,000 people have been affected by flooding. Meanwhile death toll has reportedly stood at 1.
Nakhon Phanom Governor Bunsanong Bunmee (??? ?) reports that more than 200 residences, 500 roads, and 7 dams have been damaged by the flood. In addition, more than 180 billion rai of agricultural area, a thousand fish ponds, and a large number of livestock have been affected. The damage was estimated at about 193 million baht.
As for the water level of Mekong River, the governor says it stays at 12.58 meters which is higher than the critical point of 12.45 meters, resulting in inundation in many areas in the province. The governor says rice fields may be destroyed if they are being submerged for a long time.
