Textbooks, opportunities lacking for Sudanese child refugees in Chad

GAGA (21 May) - Students in refugee camps in eastern Chad face difficult conditions for learning because of a lack of textbooks, classrooms and furniture. Mohamed 'Eissa, the educational superintendant at Gaga refugee camp, said that 25.000 students at camps Gaga, Farshana, Bredjing and Treguine face an uncertain future because of poor academic achievement and the lack of secondary schools to continue their education. Sudanese refugees were not allowed to enroll in Chadian secondary schools, said Mohamed 'Eissa.
