Kazakhstan Floods Situation Monitoring Report #2 March 24 2010

This report was issued by OCHA Sub Regional Office for Central Asia, based on information provided by Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, the UN Resident Coordinator's Office and National Red Crescent Society. It covers the period from 13th to 24 March 2010. The next report will be issued on or around 2 April.

I. HIGHLIGHTS/KEY PRIORITIES

- The government of Kazakhstan has organized the evacuation and relocation of flood affected population in Eastern and Southern Kazakhstan and provided them with the necessary relief items.

- The government has not requested for international assistance. This report is for alert and monitoring purposes only;

- US$ 127,176 has been allocated from IFRC un-earmarked resources (Disaster Relief Emergency Fund) to support the Kazakhstan National Society in delivering immediate assistance to 480 beneficiaries and to replenish emergency stocks.
