Commission for Humanitarian Aid in the South begins air dropping of food on Jongolei and Sobat areas


Khartoum, Oct. 5 (SUNA) - The Commission for Humanitarian Aid of the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) has announced the beginning of providing food materials to the affected areas in the south in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP). In a statement to SUNA, the Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in South Sudan said that the process of air dropping of food on Jongolei and Sobat areas began early current October, besides launching river barges loaded with food materials from Malakal to Ocobu. He said that the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) started seizing arms from the citizens, asserting the importance of formation of a mechanism to collect weapons from the citizens with the help of the sultans and benefiting from the experiences of other countries.
