*BAGHDAD - Five people were killed, including two policemen, and 17 people wounded, when two suspected suicide car bombers attacked police checkpoints in southern Baghdad, police said.

*BAGHDAD - A bomb on a pickup truck attached to the Electricity Ministry wounded two ministry employees and two bystanders in the Mansour district of western Baghdad, an Interior Ministry source said.

*BAGHDAD - Two mortar rounds landed in the heavily fortified Green Zone government and diplomatic neighbourhood of Baghdad, without causing any casualties, the office of the Baghdad security command said.

DIYALA - One U.S. soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Diyala province northeast of Baghdad on Tuesday, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded three people in the Doura district of southern Baghdad, police said.
