Pakistan donates $70,000 for IDPs

Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday directed Pakistan's High Commissioner in Sri Lanka to present a cheque of $70,000 to assist the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Sri Lanka.

The donation would be made from the Special Assistance Programme for South Asia (SAPSA) Fund, reported the Daily Times today (24).

It also said the Pakistan government has thus responded to the request of the Sri Lankan president, who requested the assistance of the international community.
