Angola: Demining institute destroys explosive devices


Mbanza Kongo – A total of 2,035 non-detonated explosive devices shall be destroyed next Friday by the National Demining Institute (INAD) in the Luvuvamu region, district of Kuimba, northern Zaire province.

According to a communiqué from the provincial department of INAD delivered to ANGOP this Wednesday in Mbanza Kongo city, provincial capital, among the explosive devices to be destroyed highlight falls to 236 anti-personnel landmines, two anti-tanks, ten firearms of various calibres and 1,423 ammunitions.

The institute will also destroy 114 mortars of several calibres, 50 rpg-7 rockets, three rdg-5 hand grenades, two castor grenades and one rpg-22 missile.

The various war materials such as 84 muv-2 detonators and three b-10 mortars will also be destroyed.
