Foreign Minister Met on 5th. Nov. Evening with Mr. Ibrahim Gambari Secretary-General's representative of the United Nations for the International Compact with Iraq and Mr. Ed Michaelrt Head of the United Nations mission UNAMI in Iraq.
the Mechanism for the International Compact which was formed to support Iraq's integration with the market and international community, especially after Stockholm Conference was discussed , which was attended by 100 countries and regional and international organizations. It was agreed that it is the time to reconsider this mechanism after Iraq's progress in the restoration of its sovereignty and its place in the world and the need to be reviewed and different mechanisms of action in the next stage.
On the other hand the results of the visit of Mr. Oscar Fernandez Taranco Undersecretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs and his accompanying delegation to Baghdad at the request of the Iraqi government to consult with the Government and to assess the size and the impact of terrorist bombings that targeted ministries and sovereign Iraqi institutions on 19th .Aug and, 25th. Oct. were discussed along with the security and stability of Iraq and the region.
And also discussed Political consultations and debates of current parliamentary discussions to pass elections law and the role of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in the process of assisting parties to agree on elections law.
