Egypt extends relief assistance to Niger

Egypt extended 61 tons of food aid to Niger to help the stranded people there due to the floods that hit the country several weeks ago, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Friday 6/11/2009.

Aid to African countries at times of natural disasters tops priorities of the Egyptian government, he said.

Egypt will soon offer medical aid to the African country too, he added.
