Deputy Governor of Jonglei reveals 'big food gap' in the state


The Deputy Governor of Jonglei, Hussein Mar Nyot, told Miraya FM that there is a "big food gap" in the State.

Mar Nyot's statement comes after his recent visit to a number of areas in Jonglei in order to assess the situation there. He urged the Government of Southern Sudan and aid organizations to immediately intervene to curb the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

Meanwhile, Jonglei Deputy Governor hailed citizens' cooperation with the disarmament operation. Speaking to Miraya FM, Mar Nyot said an agreement was reached for tribal chiefs to determine and control the graze paths. Mar Nyot further noted that the voter registration process is progressing in Jonglei State.
