Sri Lanka: Immunization of displaced children in Wanni

A programme to immunize over forty thousand children in welfare camps in Wanni will commence tomorrow (3).

The Health Ministry has deployed over 150 medical assistants will necessary drugs being transported to the venue.

Apart from the immunization programme, those children would be given vaccines on Polio,Tetanus,Japanese Encephalitis and Rubella with worm treatment.

The ministry is implementing this project through the Public Health Division and instructions have been given to cover all welfare camps.

The project will continue in Wanni for three days and additional doses would be given after close medical inspection. (MP)
