Sudan: Liberation Movement for Justice about to sign agreement with G'ment on Tuesday

The Liberation Movement for Justice, one of the Darfur factions, is conducting 'intense discussions' with the Government of Sudan to reach a draft agreement to be signed on Tuesday, the chairman of the movement and former governor of Darfur region Altijani Sese said in a statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA).

According to Sese, the draft includes power and wealth sharing, security arrangements and issues related to repatriation of IDPs and their incentives.

Meanwhile, another Darfur faction, the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) doubted the Government's ability to reach an agreement with the Liberation Movement for Justice.

Speaking to Radio Miraya, the JEM's Foreign Relations Secretary, Jibril Ibrahim, downplayed the importance of the agreement which he described as 'structural'.

JEM signed a framework agreement with the Government of Sudan on 23 February.
