Oct 3 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Afghanistan at 1600 GMT on Sunday.

* LOGAR - Troops from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) accidentally killed two civilians on Sunday when responding to insurgent fire on a military base in Logar province, south of Kabul, ISAF said in a statement.
* HELMAND - A NATO air strike in southern Helmand province on Saturday killed three civilians and wounded four others. It also killed 17 insurgents, a provincial official said.
PAKTIA - A roadside bomb killed 8 civilians, all but one from the same family, when it detonated near their car in eastern Paktia province, the provincial governor's spokesman Mukhles Afghan said.
KANDAHAR - ISAF and Afghan forces killed a child and an adult man, and wounded another adult, when they were on patrol in southern Kandahar province, ISAF said in a statement.
The troops opened fire when they saw "a suspected insurgent who was perceived as about to fire a weapon", the statement said.
The incident is being investigated by a joint foreign and Afghan team, ISAF added.
KABUL - An ISAF service member was killed during an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan early on Sunday, ISAF said.
KABUL - An ISAF service member died from a homemade bomb blast in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, ISAF said on Sunday. No other details were immediately available.
HELMAND - A child was killed and another wounded by a homemade bomb explosion in southern Helmand province on Saturday, ISAF said.
