Iraq: KERBALA - ATTACKS AGAINST PILGRIMS

New attacks were carried out against pilgrims today in Kerbala, a holy city for the Shiites, where numerous are headed in these days from around Iraq and other countries. After last week's attacks left over 40 dead, today two bomb blasts in the city south-west of Baghdad killed at least 13 people and injured numerous, reports the Iraqi media. Based on a first reconstruction, both blasts were car-bombs, one triggered at the passage of a bus filled with pilgrims, including children. In a separate episode in Baghdad, a bomb exploded today killing an official of the Prime minister's office and critically wounding a secret service agent.
