"We have made success with this building; now we are happy that the health services will be provided easily from this new building" said Dilli Raj Baada Magar, the chief of HFOMC of Khara Sub-health post.
One year ago, when ADRA Nepal/VCP Project started the construction work with discussions with the community and a detailed survey, Initially it was not heartily accepted by the beneficiaries because of limited funds for the project but later, SHP in charge and communities took part in fundraising from VDCs and CGI sheet from GTZ.After eight months, they prepared a fully equipped sub health post with the following facilities: OPD room, delivery room with bed, dispensary and a meeting room. They not only newly constructed four rooms but also a corridor for a child weight room. Each room is it by solar electric system so that any time they can provide service.
Now service from the new building has started. Around five thousand beneficiaries will benefit from this SHP yearly. There is no technical defect in the building and was made fully earthquake resistant.
ADRA Nepal conducted the handover program on 10th Nov2009, it was attended by a representative from SNMF and DHO staffs, local political leaders, local organizations, civil society members and beneficiaries. The building was handed over to the Health Facility Operation Management Committee (HFOMC) of sub-health post.
