 Full_Report (pdf* format - 67.2 Kbytes)

As of 1st November 2009, 4:00 PM Baghdad time, 16 governorates have reported 904 confirmed cases of Influenza A H1N1 including 7 deaths. Out of the total cases 429 are members of the multinational forces.

At the EMR regional level, as of 24 October 2009, 23:00 hours, Cairo time, 17,150 laboratory-confirmed cases of Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 were reported to WHO by 21 out of 22 Member States of WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region. There are 111 related deaths from Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 reported, so far, from 13 member states in the Region. These deaths were reported from Saudi Arabia (28), Oman (23), Yemen (13), Kuwait (11), Islamic Republic of Iran (16), Bahrain (6), Iraq (4), Egypt (3), Lebanon (2), Syrian Arab Republic (2), Palestine (1) Jordan (1) and Qatar (1).

As of 25 October 2009, worldwide there have been more than 440,000 laboratory confirmed cases of pandemic influenza H1N1 2009 and over 5700 deaths reported to WHO.

As many countries have stopped counting individual cases, particularly of milder illness, the case count is likely to be significantly lower than the actual number of cases that have occurred. WHO is actively monitoring the progress of the pandemic through frequent consultations with the WHO Regional Offices and member states and through monitoring of multiple sources of data.
