Headlines

- Humanitarian needs are reported in Dongo, in the Equateur Province, following intercommunal clashes

- Human rights violations against civilians, committed by armed groups, continue in the South Kivu Province

- Humanitarian activities remain temporarily suspended in the Lubero and Rutshuru Territories, North Kivu

Overall Developments

Protection of Civilians

- In South Kivu, approximately 573 cases of human rights abuses against civilians have been reported from 1 to 12 November in the Territories of Mwenga and Shabunda. These include extortions of goods and cattle, torture, and arbitrary arrests, approximately half of which are attributed to the national army. Very often, armed elements also force the population is forced to carry military assets.
