Chad: Water pumps in Guereda repaired through MINURCAT QIP

Guereda - On 31 October, the SRSG, Victor Angelo, accompanied by the Polish Commander and the Prefect of Guereda officially inaugurated the water pumps rehabilitated in that town through a Quick Impact Project financed by MINURCAT.

The SRSG stated that MINURCAT was proud to lend a helping hand to the population of Guereda whose quest for a reliable source of water is a constant preoccupation. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of the Prefect of Guereda who lauded MINURCAT's efforts to improve living conditions for the town inhabitants. The Prefect said he looks forward to further cooperation with the UN mission and welcomed the appointment of a new Head of Office.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of local traditional leaders, the DIS, members of the Polish and Ghanaian contingents as well as local beneficiaries of the project. The pumps will bring much relief to Guereda families as access to water is increased for all.
