UNHCR to send home exiled Sudanese up to next year, an official says

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee, Director Bureau for Africa, George Okoth-Obbo has said that UNHCR will repatriate exiled Sudanese this year and next year. Mr. Okoth-Obbo added that UNHCR has been very successful in repatriation and reintegration. He said that UNHCR has also played a significant role supporting Congolese refugees in Western Equatoria and reintegrating returnees there.

Mr. Okoth-Obbo was in southern Sudan for four days to review the regional activities of UNHCR. He visited Makpandu Congolese refugees' camp in western Equatoria and Magwi County, which has the highest number of returnees.
