Two Misseriya tribesmen killed in Unity state


The spokesperson of unity state government, minister of information, Andrea Koang, confirmed the killing of two Misseriya tribesmen while two SPLA soldiers were wounded on Thursday. Koang told Miraya FM that the killing came when the Misseriya tribesmen refused to hand over their guns while crossing River Kiir. He pointed that the wounded soldiers are receiving treatment in the hospital.

The SPLM secretary of Orial County in Lakes state Dout alwal said, that armed Mundari tribes men were responsible for an attack in the county on Thursday.

The incident killed one citizen and left three others wounded. Speaking to Miraya Fm, Malwal said the incident has displaced almost eight thousand citizens and caused instability in the region.

Meanwhile, Koang confirmed that Misseriya pastoral right in the region with a condition that they do not carry arms as they cross the border. Speaking to Miraya FM, Kaong further said that the Vice President of Government of Southern Sudan, Riek Machar, will visit Unity State to encourage people to register for the upcoming general elections.
