OPT: Israels opens two Gaza crossings

GAZA, March 25 (KUNA) -- Israel Wednesday opened two Gaza crossings on a temporary basis, allowing 160 trucks carrying humanitarian aid, food, and goods to enter the strip.

The Israeli authorities informed the Palestinian side that Karm Abu Salem Crossing will be opened to allow in 115 aid trucks, including 41 of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) and international organizations, said head of the committee supervising the entry of supplies into Gaza Raed Fattouh in a statement to a local radio station.

According to the Palestinian official, 61 trucks of the commercial private sector, carrying milk products, frozen meat, beans, flour, sugar, salt, rice, pasta, cooking oil, soap, shampoo, children diapers, and blankets, would be passing through the crossing, in addition to 13 trucks of the agricultural private sector which will be delivering fruits and garlic.

He added another 45 trucks are due to enter the Gaza Strip through Karni Crossing, east of Gaza City, with wheat and feeds on board.
