International Alert (IA)
International Alert is an independent peacebuilding organisation that has worked for over 20 years to lay the foundations for lasting peace and security in communities affected by violent conflict.

We are looking for a Senior Programme Design and Fundraising Officer to design projects and raise funds from institutional donors for our projects with a geographic focus on the Eurasia region. This includes the South Caucasus, (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey, including the disputed territories of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorny Karabakh) as well as Central Asia (Tajikistan). The position also involves support to the organisation’s thematic peacebuilding programme, with responsibility for assisting programme development in the area of peace and security.

You will be responsible for designing proposals in collaboration with programme teams and their partners. You have previous experience in designing projects and preparing proposals for submission to institutional donor agencies such as DFID, USAID and the EU. You have strong expertise in the preparation of project logframes and supporting design documentation, including project budgets. You are experienced in project delivery and/or have a good knowledge of project management processes. Through your design or project management work, you have a good understanding of monitoring and evaluation requirements and place a strong emphasis on project impact.

Educated to a degree level, you have a talent for adapting complex ideas into practical programme proposals. You are a skilled communicator with the capacity to plan and communicate effectively within a highly politicised environment. You also have a talent for facilitating constructive discussions within the team which encourage logical and rigorous approaches to programme analysis and design.

Your written English is excellent and you also speak Russian.
