Child Protection Emergencies Specialist
Salary Range from £34,600 to £38,500
18 month fixed-term contract

The Child Protection Emergencies Specialist is the expert in child protection (against violence, abuse and exploitation) in disaster risk reduction. You will represent Plan globally within the external fora and establish contact with the key players in the field. A key part of the role is to undertake a review and mapping of Plan's existing Child Protection programming in Emergencies (conflict and natural disaster) and get lessons into future programming. Along the way you will provide awareness training and capacity building and identify and develop training manuals, guidance documents and toolkits on key Child Protection in Emergencies issues. Working with Plan child protection staff you will ensure coherence with Plan CP policy and build synergy with existing skills and training. The role will support Country offices during disasters on assessment of CP needs and design or evaluation of CP programmes.

For this role the successful candidate will need programme experience of child protection in emergencies, preferably in conflict, experience of psychosocial programming, experience of UN clusters and international systems for child protection and a degree or equivalent in law or human rights. You will also have had previous experience of designing and delivering training. The ability to also communicate in French & Spanish would be advantageous.
