(CLOSED) Deputy Programme Director (Programme Support Functions)

Contract: 3 months to 1 year

Tearfund is seeking a Deputy Programme Director as we start an operational programme in Zimbabwe. The role is responsible for overseeing the Logistics, Finance and Human Resource functions of the programme, and supporting the Programme Director in external representation to donors and Government bodies and other NGOs.

During the set up phase you will be responsible for overseeing the establishment of office and accommodation and associated procurement; recruiting a national staff team; and putting in place Tearfund’s standard logistics, finance and HR systems and procedures, and contextualising these to Zimbabwe customs and practices.
As the programme starts to implement projects you will be responsible for ensuring that the project teams are fully supported by the logistics, finance and HR functions, and compliant to donor and Tearfund procedures
The role requires an experienced manager, with proven track record in relief programme implementation, and a background in logistics, financial management and HR
The post is based in Harare, Zimbabwe and will include regular travel to field sites.
Applicants must be prepared to live in potentially insecure conditions, and must be committed to Tearfund's evangelical Christian beliefs. All posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks related to child protection issues.
