To work within the mandate of Protection International and follow the principles of Impartiality and non- partisanship
To implement, under supervision of the Executive Committee, PI’s policy in Asia, and, in particular, to establish a regional PI office for Asia, possibly in Thailand
To liaise with PI and other regional, national and/or local HRDs organisations with a view to establishing or reinforcing relationships and possibly developing partnerships
To liaise with NGOs, international organisations and bodies working in the region on the protection of human rights defenders;
To liaise with HRDs and their organisations on the development of the Capacity Building and Security Training programme
To co-ordinate the development of PI’s activities in Asia and to report on any change or proposal for change
To contribute to the development of a regional security plan, to update it and to abide by it
To contribute to the development of a database on relating to the risks faced by Human Rights Defenders (in particular to the security incidents)
To develop security trainings sessions and to propose adaptations of PI’s Security Training Manual for Human Rights Defenders according to specific requirements of local, national and regional context
To report on training sessions (including on their evaluation and to propose any recommendation on possible adaptations)
To develop advocacy activities and documents in coordination with PI’s Executive Committee and Advocacy Unit
To investigate and follow-up possible funding opportunities and liaise for proposals writing with PI’s Financial responsible
To ensure effective financial reporting, in coordination with the Financial / Admin officers of PI
To collaborate and prepare reports for PI management committee meetings and for the international donors
To keep abreast of the political situation in the country and lead on the development of organizational political analysis
