(CLOSED) Field Manager

Mine Tech International
MineTech International, part of Exploration Logistics Group, is based in the United Kingdom and recognised as one of the world’s leading EOD and Mine Clearance contractors with over 15 years’ project experience. We provide EOD expertise, manual and mechanical demining, explosive and mine detection dogs and mines awareness training to institutional and commercial clients worldwide.

Location: Chad

Experience/Qualifications:
  • A minimum EOD Level 3 with Community Liaison, EOD, BAC and demining experience.
  • Minimum of two years relevant field operations experience.
  • Previous experience of working in Chad would be desirable.
  • Experience of living and working in remote and testing conditions is essential.

The Role:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified EOD Level 3 or above for a Field Manager position heading up a field team in support of route survey/clearance teams in Chad, that is contracted to run until 30 May 2010. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage a team of 16 people, including ancillary staff, and be trained and equipped to carry out the following tasks: community liaison; bunker and stockpile clearance; explosive ordnance disposal; battle area clearance and mine clearance.

You will be responsible for carrying out reconnaissance and preparing implementation plans and subsequent taskings.

Regular field reporting will be required to include daily, weekly and monthly reports which are to be submitted to MineTech International Headquarters and the UN.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently within the programme structure
  • Fit to work and live in a testing and remote environment
  • Good communication skills to interact well with local UN officials and local military commanders
  • Conversant with IMSMA
  • Good report writing and field budgetary skills
  • Competent in the use of computers for word processing and for the formulation of spreadsheets
