EXCLUSIVE ANALYSIS

Exclusive Analysis is a City-based strategic intelligence company which forecasts political and violent risks worldwide.

The Africa Division is responsible for the political risk analysis for the forty nine Sub Saharan African countries. The Deputy of a regional Division typically manages a specific sub-region, to be arranged with the Head of Division according to respective country expertise and interests, but personnel in the Africa division are expected to be familiar with all countries of the region.

Job Specification

Deputise for the Head of Division
The Deputy represents the Head of Africa Division at meetings, client briefings and media appearances.

Thematic or country/expertise to develop a particular specialisation
The Deputy develops specific areas of expertise, at least one of which should be cross-regional.

Conduct reviews of analysis and forecasts for the region regularly
The Deputy is responsible for co-managing the analysis and forecasts of the Africa division on a regular and ongoing basis.

Produce bespoke client reports
When required, the Deputy produces bespoke client reports for countries within Africa.

Managing analysts
The Deputy assists the Head of Division with communicating, tasking and managing a number of remote analysts working on the Africa region.

Person Specification

Work experience
Demonstrable experience of working on and in Africa, particularly Southern and East Africa. This may include government and diplomatic postings, business and finance, non-governmental and international organizations, security and armed forces. In addition, the candidate should have excellent knowledge of economic and political issues of the region.

Education: Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree; concentration on Africa is preferred.

Languages: Fluency in at least one local language is highly desirable.

Start Date: January 2009

Salary: £30-£35k depending on experience and qualifications
