(CLOSED) Project Manager

Government of Monaco
The Office of international cooperation and development implements the Government of Monaco’s development cooperation policy and manage its official development assistance.
Closing date: 20 Dec 2009 -- (CLOSED)
Location: Senegal - Saint Louis

The program of international volunteers is intended for the young people from 21 to 35 years old.
The mission lasts one year and can be renewed 2 years more.

It aims to propose to young people to live a framed human experience and to reinforce the support for the development projects of the local partners of the developing countries.

Job description:

- The volunteer will have to work out, in collaboration with the Chief Technical Officer of the program, a project of accompaniment of the villages, starting from the requests of the populations, which improves their living conditions.
- He will have to raise solutions, to manage, to quantify and to propose the assessment of the actions undertaken.
- He will be the person who will speak to the chiefs of the villages and he will have to report on his actions to the NGO, Espoir pour la Santé (EPLS).
- He will have to carry out missions on the ground in the sub-saharian area of the North of Senegal and to move in other areas of the country and in Dakar. These trips are totally secured.
- He will meet the public authorities of the villages and will be subject to the rules of confidentiality.
- At some occasions, he could be asked to work on week ends.

Required qualifications:
- diploma of academic works,
- experience in project management in developing countries, and a liking for framework and to take responsibilities,
- To have the organisation and contact sense and a liking for human relations and teamwork,
- To speak, read and write in French,
- Ideally, to speak Woloof and/or Pular (local languages)
