General Summary:

AECOM seeks an IT/Database Manager to work on our Khartoum-based USAID/OTI program supporting the implementation of Sudan’s Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), with field offices through-out the country. The program delivers quick impact activities at the local level identified by local opinion leaders, in close coordination with OTI and AECOM. AECOM organizes in-kind support for the achievement of those initiatives, all of which contribute to the enhancement of public understanding of the CPA; and of local government service delivery during over this critical period punctuated by a series of competitive elections and referenda.

The IT/Database Manager reports to the Chief of Party or their designee.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all installation, maintenance and performance of all IT related hardware and software required for efficient and effective program implementation.
- Oversee the technical aspects of the database ensuring AECOM can generate timely and accurate reports and charts
- Review all database information for accuracy, consistency and completeness
- Finalize the establishment of a working IT Network Infrastructure including servers, individual laptops and desktops for over 50 computers.
- Assess the security of the IT network
- Manage network infrastructure, security levels, network availability, VSAT, wireless access and suggest how to improve the security to be more reliable and more secure.
- Suggest proper equipment and planning for implementation.
- Research and recommend security hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.
- Manage the IT inventory and update the inventory list in coordination with the Operations Director.
- Support the Operations Director and HO in ensuring compliance with BIS requirements for procurement and asset management.
- Travel to regional offices to provide support as needed (at least 20% travel).
- Conduct technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
- Maintain confidentiality of any communication between system users or that may be stored or accessed by the network.
- Responsible for electronic information management and coordination amongst all units.
- Supervise the File clerk who will assist in the information management.
- Document security system problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- B.A. in IT, Masters is desirable.
- 5 years work experience in relevant field
- At least 1 year experience living abroad, preferably in the Northern Africa
- Ability to multi-task and work in difficult regions.
