Save the Children UK has been fully operational in Liberia since 1991 with an emergency programme focusing on the immediate needs of children affected by war. The programme is at an exciting and interesting stage – moving from humanitarian and emergency interventions to long-term rehabilitation and development approaches with the aim of fulfilling the rights of Liberia children to health, education, and protection.
This vital role will see you coordinating operations systems, processes and activities to ensure that Save the Children's programmes in Liberia are delivered timely according to organisational strategy, donor requirements and within allocated budgets. As part of the core Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to the development, and/review of the country strategic direction and policy formulation, proposal development, and finance, HR, Logistics systems strengthening. You contribute to the expansion and effective delivery of Save the Children programmes in Liberia. You will be aware of, and be responsive to the country's contextual realities. You will provide inspirational leadership to the team (Logistics, Field Operations) and develop staff capacity to drive forward our thematic plans.
As such, you will need substantial international operations management experience gained with an international non-governmental organisation and in a post-conflict or fragile environment preferably in Africa. You should have relevant qualifications in business administration and management with good working knowledge and experience of delivering one or more Save the Children sectors within complex environment in addition to excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
