(CLOSED) Director Agriculture & Food Security

Location: Africa, Nairobi, Dakar, Johannesburg

To provide sectoral leadership in agriculture and food security programming across the World Vision Partnership. To drive strategy, policy and practice and grow capacity and expertise across the organization resulting in greater contribution to the well-being of children.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics or related field - Senior level
- 10 years minimum International experience – agriculture, food security & economic development (preferred).
Individual must lean more towards the business side of agriculture vs. the science side - using agriculture & food security to increase family assets and incomes.
- 7 years working in a developing country in field-based positions overseeing program/project design, implementation of evaluation in areas of agriculture & food security alongside other sectors such as health & education.
- Five years experience in strategic planing and execution
- Leadership/management experience required – developing a strategy to strengthen food security and a relations aspect
- Ability to open doors and build relationships with major donors in the areas of agriculture & food security – FAO, EU.
- Strong preference for person to be based in the field in Africa (Nairobi, Johannesburg, or Dakar, Senegal)
