Job Description

The Deputy for Justice Integration is responsible for the day to day management and oversight of the Justice Integration Policy Advisors and IT Advisors. The position will oversee the refinement of justice integration policies and procedures; oversee the selection of sites in Baghdad and Iraq’s provinces for deployment of the automated criminal defendant tracking system; make recommendations on programs; schedule Advisor assignments, relocations, and leave periods; ensure the provision of appropriate supplies and equipment relating to justice integration assistance; and otherwise manage all activities pertaining to the provision of advisory services on justice integration.

Minimum Qualifications:

- U.S. Citizen
- Law degree from an ABA accredited law school
- At least five years of legal experience
- 5 years in the application of Information Technology (IT) in a legal setting
- Experience developing policies and procedures in an interagency setting (public or private sector
- Understanding of a civil (as opposed to common law) law system
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function effectively in an adverse environment
- Eligibility for security clearance up to Secret level

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in designing, managing, and implementing projects
- Familiarity with the Iraqi criminal justice system and the various Iraqi Ministries and judicial actors
- Knowledge of Iraqi history, culture, institutions and structures
- Experience operating within a USG interagency context
- Arabic language capabilities
