Job titile: Judicial Education & Development Institute (JEDI) Management Advisor – Facilities Management

Job Description

The JEDI Management Advisor (Facilities Management) will assist in the creation of an institute for the professional development of Iraqi judicial personnel, to include trial and investigative judges, judicial investigators, judicial security personnel and court administrators. The incumbent’s duties will include the design and development of a working facilities management department for the institute. The advisor will mentor Iraqi professionals in establishing both an Operations and Maintenance section that will be responsible for housing and feeding students as well as a security section for ensuring the overall safety of students and staff at the institute.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in operations management or its equivalent
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a facilities management position
- Ability to effectively communicate, advise, and train others in facilities management principles through a language assistant
- Superior interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with policy makers, judiciary officials, members of donor organizations, diplomats, all levels of staff, as well as U.S. and foreign government personnel
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Typing and basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to function effectively in an adverse environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters degree in operations management or its equivalent
- Experience working in an operations and management position at an academic institution, preferably a law school
- International experience working on legal capacity development issues in a post-conflict environment
- Experience in designing, managing, and implementing projects
- Experience drafting handbooks, operating instructions, and procedures
- Knowledge of Iraqi history, culture, institutions and structures
- Experience operating within a USG interagency context
- Arabic language capabilities
