Location: Afghanistan - Chagcharan Ghor Province
This is a full-time grant funded program manager position based in Chagcharan. The Program manager will be responsible for the proper implementation of the USAID Food-for-Peace Title II integrated three year Multi-Year Assistance Health (Mother-Child Health and Nutrition) and Agriculture Program in Ghor Province. This program focuses on improving the health and livelihoods status of 5 districts of Ghor Province through integrated health and agriculture activities including the distribution of food for malnourished pregnant and lacking women and children under five with a special emphasis on children under two. The program will distribute between 7, 000 and 9,000 Metric Tons of food per year.
S/he is responsible for managing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all program activities. S/he is responsible for reporting on past, present, and future MYAP programming activities, successes, setbacks, and plans. S/he is also responsible for personnel management, including troubleshooting and facilitating training. S/he is also responsible for all administrative issues – space and resource allocation, vehicle usage, etc.) that are relevant to the program. S/he is finally responsible for ensuring the security, feasibility, and sustainability of the program under his/her supervision.
The USAID MYAP Program Manager will provide leadership for World Vision’s Title II integrated food aid programming in Afghanistan. S/he will be responsible for interacting with USAID mission in Kabul, as well as interfacing and liaising with WVUS GAM Global Food Resources program staff on reporting, compliance and accountability requirements consistent with USAID Title II rules and regulations.S/he is responsible for incorporating larger World Vision policies and initiatives into all aspects of field programming.
Intimate familiarity with Regulation 211
- Ability to work within and meet donor deadlines and reporting requirements (e.g. annual PREP and Results Report)
- Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation.
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes.
- Good understanding of FANTA M&E and trigger indicators, as well as Sphere relief standards.
- Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct.
