Having emerged from 10 years of conflict, the next step in the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC's) remarkable recovery is to strengthen government capacity to rebuild the country in all sectors, from basic services in education, water and health, to infrastructure and reform of the security sector, across a country the size of a small continent. We are looking for a professional Country Funding Coordinator to support the programme.
The Role
Reporting to the Country Director and working closely with the Regional Centre and the funding team in Oxford, you will establish a long term funding strategy (app. GBP 13 Million), based on a sound donor mapping. Building on this strategy, you will put together long-term proposals that identify and develop our relationships with quality donors. You will take the lead in managing the funds entrusted to us, by ensuring high-quality, accurate and timely reporting. You will work closely with the programme and finance teams to coach, train and support them in matters pertaining to funding and donor contract management. You will offer sensible and creative advice and still retain your humour. As a member of the Country Management Team, you will also help shape our programmes and Advocacy efforts in the DRC.
The Person
To be successful in this role you will be someone with a strong background in funding, a natural networker with expertise in relationship building, you'll not only bring excellent writing, project cycle management and research skills, you'll also be a confident donor contract manager. You will have significant funding/fundraising experience with donors like ECHO, DfiD, SIDA, and the UN system, or, alternatively, experience in communications or programme development. You are a recognized team player, with an optimistic outlook and real belief in what we're trying to achieve here at Oxfam.
