DFID is the UK Government department responsible for delivering the British Government’s development assistance around the world.
DFID Sudan is looking for a Social Development Adviser who brings an understanding of the role of social exclusion and poverty in the development context of Sudan. You will be a senior member of the DFID Sudan team based in Khartoum, providing advice and support across all aspects of DFID’s programme in Sudan. You will also be a member of DFID’s global and multi-national cadre of Social Development, Governance and Conflict Advisers. We are encouraging Sudanese nationals in particular to apply. In order to be eligible for the post you will have:
- A Masters degree in a relevant social science subject
- High level skills in social and political analysis
- Evidence of extensive application of those social and political analysis skills in international development policy and programmes
- Previous experience of undertaking similar work in Sudan.

DFID Sudan is currently undertaking a Salary Review which will ensure that the salary for the post is set at an appropriate level. The working week is 36 hours, Sunday to Thursday. You will also be eligible for cover under DFID Sudan’s generous medical insurance policy.
