arche noVa – Initiative for People in Need e.V., is a registered international relief organisation whose focuses abroad are immediate humanitary aid, transition aid, reconstruction, development cooperation, and educational program on development policy issues. The organisation has its headquarters in Germany, Dresden, and is member of Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), the alliance of German aid organizations and the Paritätschen Wohlfahrtsverband. arche noVa is active in Myanmar since May 2008 in the humanitarian aid in the sector of health and drinking water supply, in cooperation with various local organisations.

Location: Myanmar - Yangon
For the development and implementation of our projects in Myanmar and Indonesia, in the sector of “Disaster prevention in rural areas”, we are looking for one Project Manager. The place of employement is Yangon.
Project Manager: (min. 6 months)
You will attend our partner organisations in the implementation and evaluation of our disaster prevention program in cooperation with the German Foreign Ministry, and develop new projects in the community field.

arche noVa is active in Myanmar since May 2008 in the humanitarian aid in the sector of health and drinking water supply, in cooperation with various local organisations.
Project Management assignments:
- Technical and organisational supervision of the project, in cooperation with the local partners, including Capacity Building
- Cooperation with the local public authorities
- Office administration and financial management
- Development of the local arche noVa working structure
- Personnel management
- Regular reporting to the headquarters in Germany, Dresden
- Coordination with international NGOs, the UN, German embassy and further stakeholders
- Organisation of an external evaluation
- Identification of further projects
Prerequisites:
- theorical and practical experience in international project management, in the range of disaster prevention/humanitary aid in South-East Asia
- knowledge and experiences in the range of clarification work, community development and participative project implementation of development/humanitary relief projects
- experience in the range of finance administration (as a part of a project management)
- experience in the range of personnel management (as a part of a project management)
- capacities in intercultural communication
- German and English knowledge (written and oral, fluent)
- experiences in the range of application and budget creation, and of the cooperation with international investor organisations (as a part of a project management)
- experiences and knowledge of organizational development/capacity building
- experiences in the range of beneficial water and sanitation
