(CLOSED) Translator/Interpreter

Closing date: 14 Dec 2009 -- (CLOSED)
Location: Côte d'Ivoire

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Translator/interpreter provides translation and interpreting support for the successful implementation of SCMS and related MSH activities in Cote d’Ivoire.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Translate technical documents from French to English and English to French
2. Interpret at meetings, from French to English and English to French
3. Provide support to country staff and consultants in coordinating appointments, preparing/disseminating materials and in formatting technical documents, reports and presentations as required
4. Other duties as requested by office manager or country director

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduate level in English for French native speakers or vice versa.
2. At least two (2) years experience translating/interpreting with responsibilities as described above. .
3. Fluency in French and in English language including reading, writing and speaking skills.
4. Computer skills including spreadsheet, word processing, and electronic mail; Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
5. Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
6. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and to take initiative
