Location: Sudan (the) - Kadugli
The Regional Programme Managers shall be under the overall supervision of the Head of the Governance and Rule of Law Unit, with accountability lines to thematic Senior Program Officers; and with quality assurance provided by the Programme Officer. The Regional Programme Managers will be responsible for project/programmatic implementation of the relevant Governance and Rule of Law project/programmes in a given region.
Specific duties include:
- Implement and manage the Project/Programme within each respective state, which includes preparing an annual work plan, procurement plans, and recruitment plans; managing a budget; monitoring expenditures; supervising Project/Programme staff on a day-to-day basis;
- Assess impact and effectiveness through regular consultations with national and international counterparts, tracking outputs and results, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of Project/Programme outputs, monitoring and updating of ATLAS;
- Ensure the Project/Programme is implemented in compliance with UNDP rules and regulations;
- Liaise with UN agencies, national and international NGOs, civil society, academia and targeted populations in implementing the Project/Programme in the region for better coordination and avoidance of duplication in its program;
- Responsible for initiating and maintaining institutional relationships at state and local government level;
- Participate in inter-agency working groups and initiatives to promote governance and the rule of law;
- Consolidate area-based thematic reports on Project/Programme implementation in a timely manner;
- Provide support in thematic coordination and ensuring consistency with rule of law Project/Programmes implemented by UNDP in other areas;
- Responsible for ensuring first line trouble shooting from thematic and operational issues for area based team in support of the Senior Programme Officer function
- Perform any additional tasks as requested by the supervisor.
