Location: Afghanistan - Kabul
- Provide overall leadership and management to the Operations department (including security, procurement, IT, transportation, inventory / logistics, and facilities).
- Collect and disseminate daily security reports; lead security responses.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews of operations to ensure high levels of quality and efficiency.
- Ensure operational compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with relevant government policies and procedures and develop, and maintain effective working relationship and mechanism with government offices relevant to the Administration area.
- Ensure that asset registries are continually updated and that AKF assets are protected
- Ensure customer-oriented service provision among all staff members of the operations department.
- Facilitate frequent and effective communication between the Kabul and regional offices.
- Provide leadership and technical support to Operations team members in both Kabul and the regions. Ensure consistent implementation of appropriate performance management activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in effectively managing, leading, and developing the capacity of staff and a Department, preferably at the similar scope and scale.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Outstanding organizational skills. Excellent ability to handle multiple tasks, details, and sensitive issues / environment.
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide / apply valid and creative solutions. Ability to write logical, clear and concise reports and effectively present information is preferable.
- Self confident, excellent self-motivation ability, and able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently. Proven ability to cope and adapt with stressful and diverse situations; including with limited resources.
- Ability to deal with a broad spectrum of people, and proven cultural sensitivity. Experience of working in a multicultural environment is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, reading and written) in English. Ability to speak Dari and/or Pashto is preferable.
