Project Manager - Disaster Risk Reduction

Save The Children, a leading US and international child-focused relief and development Agency, seeks a Disaster Risk Reduction Project Manager (PM) who will be responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination and implementation of the Community and School-based Disaster Preparedness Project in Jacmel, Haiti. The PM will be responsible for financial management and compliance, staff supervision, coordination, report writing and networking with relevant international and local organizations, community based organizations, authorities, donors, and government bodies. He/she will report to the Project Manager. As the leader of this field operation, the PM will spend 50% of his/her time in the field and 50% time in Port-Au-Prince.

The incumbent will have at least five years demonstrated international program management experience in community based, disaster risk reduction projects; an advanced degree in international development or related field is desirable; demonstrated administrative, financial and personnel management skills; competency in community mobilization (vulnerability assessments), institutional development and capacity building of community based organizations; training and facilitation experience; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in partnership with various stakeholders. Proficiency in written/spoken English and the ability to communicate in French (Creole preferred).
