(CLOSED) Malaria Program Senior Coordinator

Location: Côte d'Ivoire - Abidjan

The Malaria Program Senior Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, administrative and financial management, coordination, supervision and reporting of all activities undertaken under the responsibility of CARE CI in the fight against Malaria.

His/her main role is to lead in achieving superior quality of global management of the program’s activities. The Malaria Program Coordinator has the role of Head Manager and will be assisted by 2 deputies in carrying out his mission. He/she will be at the head of 2 teams: one based in Abidjan for implementation of the program activities in the South, and one based in North for implementation of program activities in that zone.

The Malaria Program Coordinator will report to the Program ACD for CARE CI.
He/she will execute all duties according to applicable CARE procedures and will respect the fundamental CARE values.

This position is based in the offices of CARE CI in Abidjan.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

- University diploma in public health, project management, social sciences or community development (minimum master’s degree).

- Prior experience (at least 5 years) in project management at national level in one of the following areas: public health, communications, participatory development in rural environment and/or equivalent.

- Prior experience managing large multi-million dollar project in an accomplished.

- Positive experience with national authorities, civil society organizations and donors.

- Program and financial management

- Good interpersonal communication skills

- Excellent command (written and spoken) of French and English

- Leadership and work capacity to lead a team efficiently and progressively under pressure

- Ability to command M&E tools

- Experience in developing and monitoring budgets

- Demonstrated experience managing programs in developing countries

Desired:

- Experience with Malaria Prevention and CARE Programming in WCA

- Good knowledge of developing countries in general and familiarity with Ivorian context would be an advantage.

- Experience with implementation of activities financed by the Global Fund would be an advantage.

- Program approach knowledge

- Experience with GF mechanisms
