World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Here is an opportunity to realize your potential to change the world. We are currently seeking a Sr. Team Leader, Nutrition & Health, with the Nutrition & Health team.

This position reports to the Director, Program Effectiveness (PED), and is responsible to ensure the team's contribution to World Vision Canada's (WVC) cross-functional regional strategies and plans, including WVC's
Integrated Nutrition and Health Strategy. In particular, this position is responsible for the leadership, coordination and facilitation of the Nutrition & Health team, so as to achieve the goal of quality nutrition and health programming, overall program management, resource acquisition and
stakeholder relationship and engagement.

Responsibilities

Responsible for overall direction and programs in the Nutrition and Health sector. Bears the primary responsibility of:

- Team leadership
- Coordinating workloads for team members
- Coaching team members in goal setting, evaluation, problem solving and support to partners
- Managing team's strategic plans in coordination with cross-functional regional strategies and plans
- Resource Acquisition & new initiatives
- Working closely with the HIV-TB Team to operationalize the Integrated Nutrition and Health Strategy
- Program impact and quality
- Member of the International &Canadian Program's (ICP) Extended Leadership Team (ELT) and PED's CORE Team.
- Identifying appropriate consultants and managing terms of reference
- Developing and monitoring team and program budget as well as grant budgets
- Contributing to overall technical competencies and effective integration of nutrition and health objectives. This includes contributing to overall WVI standards of programming and recommending ways of strengthening interventions so as to more effectively achieve desired results in nutrition, health and food security.
- Advocating for effective resource development for nutrition/health activities
- Ensuring WV's perspective informs policy decisions by donors (e.g. CIDA), international agencies (e.g. UNICEF, WHO), and government line ministries (e.g. Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture)
- Preparing, presenting and defending/negotiating concept papers and proposals to CIDA and other donors
- Initiating regular updates to the donor on program progress and impact, including regular visits to donor agency, and developing and presenting updates through various media (e.g., narrative, print, video, power point)
- Managing and strengthening relationships with other NGOs and academic institutions
- Works in close collaboration with Tech Div Director, ELT members, other Divisions, Ottawa office

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess at least a Master's in Human Nutrition (MSc) or Public Health (MPH) with over five years experience managing nutrition programs in developing countries. The ability to interpret scientific journals, manage data, prepare articles for publication as well as fluency in a PC environment is essential. Strong networking and written and verbal communication skills are required. Evidence of a highly motivated team player with good interpersonal skills is necessary. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage a team of nutrition and health professionals and multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure. International travel is required.
