This is an exciting new opportunity for a Research Officer to join the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP), housed at ODI.
ALNAP is an international inter-agency network dedicated to improving humanitarian performance through increased learning and accountability. ALNAP is looking for a Research Officer to work with the ALNAP membership. The successful candidate will develop, conduct and manage high quality and innovative research on humanitarian evaluation and accountability.
You will lead on new and existing research projects and programmes focusing on key issues for the international humanitarian sector. The role will involve close liaison and collaboration with ALNAP member organisations – donors, international / national NGOs, UN agencies, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and academics and researchers.
Research Officer Level 2:
In addition to a relevant postgraduate qualification, you have a proven knowledge of humanitarian evaluation and accountability issues, gained over 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the humanitarian sector. Experience of juggling multiple priorities is a must, as is experience of working in on applied research projects – you are fluent at translating research findings into recommendations relevant for policy and practice. As well as having experience of managing and/or conducting evaluations, you have a growing track record of publications and reports, and are an excellent communicator and networker.
