Location: Sudan (the) - Southern Kordofan
Overview of project
Supporting and improving standards of Reproductive Health (RH) Care and Public Health Promotion (PHP) project; capacity building of local staff; refresher courses for healthcare/midwives; health promotion through community health programmes. Approx 32,000 beneficiaries across a widely spread-out geographical area.
Responsibilities
To develop, lead, monitor and evaluate the medical part of the South Kordofan programme, with a particular focus on state-based coordination. To provide cover in absence of other health staff and possibly the Projects Coordinator (PC).
Qualifications
- Qualification or experience in public health or health related
- Certificate / Diploma / Masters in Public Health or Tropical Medicine desirable
Experience
- 2 years experience post training
- Previous management experience
- 2 years experience in health care/work in a relief/development setting

- At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field (more experience preferred)
- Willing to commit to Medair for a minimum of one year
- Single, or married without children (or no dependent children)
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
- Familiar with Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
- Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty, and physically fit
- Successful completion of Medair Relief/Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC)
