Health Emergency Project Manager

Location: Democratic Republic of the Congo (the) - Dungu

Overview of project

To support medical relief projects in the potentially insecure locations around Dungu.

Responsibilities

To facilitate achievement of the medical objectives to reduce morbidity and mortality in the area by delivering quality emergency healthcare in the Dungu area, and where the LRA emergency may spread.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Nursing / Midwifery or qualification as a Medical Doctor
- Education in humanitarian work desirable
- Training in tropical medicine desirable

Experience

- 2 years of professional experience after medical training
- 1 year of work experience in a developing country desirable
- Good working knowledge of French

Medair minimum working requirements for the field

- Committed to Medair values
- At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field (more experience preferred)
- Willing to commit to Medair for a minimum of one year
- Single, or married without children (or no dependent children)
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
- Familiar with Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
- Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty, and physically fit
- Successful completion of Medair Relief/Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC)
