Overview of project
A relief response to the needs of approx 243’000 IDPs in West Darfur state. Activities include: provision of PHC, reproductive health, health education & hygiene promotion, improved water quality & access, and support of latrine construction. Some activities take place in El Geneina town, however most are in rural locations - Geneina, Sirba and Habila, Zalingei, Beida Provinces.
Responsibilities
On behalf of the Projects Coordinator (PC), to ensure the security of all programme personnel and Medair assets in West Darfur. To support the smooth functioning of the Darfur programme, by appropriate overall management of the Logistics department and Admin/Finance Department. Acting PC during leave, travel etc of the PC.
Qualifications
- Degree or relevant qualification
Experience
- 1 year minimum NGO management experience
- Experience of logistics in humanitarian aid programmes in unstable security environments desirable
- Security management experience desirable

- At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field (more experience preferred)
- Willing to commit to Medair for a minimum of one year
- Single, or married without children (or no dependent children)
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
- Familiar with Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
- Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty, and physically fit
- Successful completion of Medair Relief/Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC)
